- What is this campaign?
This campaign is dedicated to helping the north of Gaza, especially those within Gaza City, raise funds to purchase food. Many people have very little food, and there have been a number of cases where children and adults have died from hunger in the north. It is a very dire situation, therefore we started this campaign.- Who is Mahmoud?
He is a dear family friend of fairuzfan and very trustworthy as an individual. For safety concerns, we cannot provide further information but Med, or fairuzfan on tumblr, can vouch 100% for him.- Who is @fairuzfan? How do they know Mahmoud?
Fairuzfan, or Med, is a Palestinian exiled and settled on Turtle Island in the settler colonial state of the US. They own the blog https://fairuzfan.tumblr.com.
Mahmoud is a family friend who we’ve known for many years. For security reasons, we will not be able to give you any more information regarding him.- How will they receive the money?
The paypal owner, Ahmed, a friend of Mahmoud, will direct the donations to Mahmoud through transfer services there. There will be an extra 3.5% fees on top of the paypal fees, though.- How will they be buying food?
Israel is blocking the aid, causing a severe famine. We cannot overstate how dire the situation is. A package of 25 kilo Flour that is around $40-$80 in Rafah, is nearly $1000 dollars in northern Gaza. There are still very limited amounts of food that Mahmoud scavenges around for.- How do I know my money will reach North Gaza?
